Katherine Johnson


Katherine Johnson was born August 26, 1918. Katherine sadly died Febuary 24, 2020 at the age 101. Katherine Johnson attended West Virginia State College, in 1937, with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and French. She received The Arthur B.C. Walker II Award and the Congressional Gold Medal. Katherine figured out the route for spacecraft to orbit Earth and land on the moon. She calculated trajectories, launched windows, and emergency return paths for Project Mercury spaceflights.
